May Marks a Milestone: The Month We Change the Way Canadians Experience Healthcare
May has always been a meaningful month for me.
It’s my birthday month (May 6th) and if you know me, you know I love celebrating birthdays, mine and everyone else's.
But this year, it’s different.
This May marks something that has been four years in the making.
This is LAUNCH MONTH for the Become the CEO of Your Health Hub & Community.
And I can honestly say, it’s one of the proudest moments of my career.
From Clinic Owner to Movement Builder
In April 2022, I made one of the biggest decisions of my career.
After 30 years of building and leading my award-winning integrative clinic, Wallis for Wellness, I chose to sell my practice.
Not because I was done.
But because I felt called to do something bigger.
For three decades, I had a front-row seat to healthcare, from both allopathic and complementary perspectives. I worked alongside incredible practitioners. I treated thousands of patients. I saw what worked and what was missing.
And one truth became undeniable:
People want to take control of their health but they don’t know where to start.
At the same time, our system has conditioned Canadians to:
- Wait until something breaks
- Rely on someone else to “fix” them
- Undervalue prevention
This “sickcare” model isn’t failing because of the people within it, it’s strained because of the system around them.
And I was raised with a simple belief:
If you see a problem, you don’t complain, you become part of the solution.
The Birth of a Movement
That’s why I founded Preventative Health Awareness Movement (PHAM).
What started as a bold idea has quickly become a recognized grassroots movement, acknowledged by Health Canada.
In just four years:
- 90+ healthcare professionals
- Multiple disciplines
- Bridging allopathic and complementary medicine
All united by one mission:
To empower Canadians with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to take ownership of their health.
The Next Evolution: The CEO of Your Health Hub
While building Preventative Health Awareness Month/Movement (PHAM), producing my podcast/TV show , PHAMCAST in collaboration with YourTV Cogeco, and continuing my clinical and corporate speaking work, I’ve been developing something truly transformative behind the scenes.
In partnership with eLearnology Inc.and powered by their platform, with instructional design led by the incredibly talented Fern McCracken, we have created:
The Become the CEO of Your Health Hub & Community
Vetted by Dr. Kristy Prouse MD, FRCSC (OB/GYN) as our Chief Medical Advisor, this is not just another online program.
It’s a new model for health empowerment.
