Excited to announce the inaugural Preventative Health Awareness Month taking place in February 2023 recognized by Health Canada!

Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more details!

As a Registered Massage Therapist with a background in Kinesiology and the owner of an award-winning preventative health clinic for 30 years, I am passionate about educating and empowering people to take action, be accountable so we can Become the CEO of our Health.

As a patient advocate I am a strong believer that we need to break down the silos that exist in our system and encourage all practitioners in healthcare  to work together to put the patient at the centre, I am committed to doing my part to help change the mindset of Canadians and the way we approach our health in this country.

My own very challenging personal health story as a young woman has been the fuel that continues to inspire me to take BOLD action in the healthcare arena to help educate and advocate for change to improve the health of people and reduce the strain on our system. I am a proud Canadian and feel blessed to have access to amazing healthcare in our county but I also know how critically important it is for each and every one of us to be accountable for our health and recognize that they are the MOST important member of our healthcare team!

Now more than ever, as we continue to walk through a global pandemic, our healthcare system is strained, and Canadians are struggling to stay healthy both mentally and physically. People are "waking up to their wellness" and want to find ways to help themselves feel better but they don't know what to do, where to turn or how to take action.

This "pill for an ill" reactionary approach to health has resulted in many people feeling unwell and a mindset that relies on their doctor or system to "fix" them. Investing in preventative health is critical and finding innovative yet simple evidence-informed ways to educate Canadians on how they can take action when it comes to their health have never been more important.

I have had a dream for years to create the FIRST EVER, PREVENTATIVE HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH. Health Canada has a long list of health promotion days focusing on supporting Canadians once they receive a diagnosis however, there is a HUGE gap in education, resources, and investment in the promotion of preventative health. It is time to change and to bring together a wide range of professionals from both conventional and complementary medicine to help create a grassroots, innovative, engaging, and interactive online campaign full of tips and strategies that people can stock their preventative health toolbox with to help them BECOME THE CEO OF THEIR HEALTH.

Working better together as ONE will empower Canadians and result in healthier people, communities, and a healthcare system. A healthy future begins with investment in prevention today!

Mark your calendars and engage in this educational & action oriented campaign on all of our CEO of your Health Social Media accounts.
