Embracing the Hard, Leaning into Change & Chasing Your Dreams Like It’s a Job

We all have daily doubts.
We wonder if we’re “good enough,” if we’ll figure it out, or if we even belong in the room—or the arena—with others.
But with each passing year and every lived experience, I’m learning to quiet those voices. I’m getting more comfortable speaking my truth, asking for what I want—and more importantly—doing the inner work to dismantle the insecurities that try to creep back in.
Here’s what I’ve learned: asking for what you want is not selfish.
When done clearly, respectfully, and with purpose, it’s a form of steward leadership.
And when you boldly state your strengths and abilities—not from ego, but with a heart to serve—you give permission for others to do the same. That’s where collaboration happens. That’s where the magic unfolds.
The Energy Exchange That Changes Everything
As an RMT, I’ve had the privilege of laying my hands on thousands of people over three decades. Yes, I’ve spent years honing my clinical skills, but the most powerful lesson I’ve learned has been less obvious: the healing power of energy exchange.

Humans are energy. Literally.
Our bodies are made up of vibrating particles—atoms and molecules in constant motion. These vibrations create energy that influences our biology, our thoughts, and our emotions.
I’ve heard the word vibration used in many contexts throughout my life. On one hand, it’s a term rooted in science and physics. On the other, it’s been used to describe human thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
For years, I struggled with the paradox of these two definitions—the “Webster’s dictionary” version versus the “Urban dictionary” one. But as I’ve deepened my personal and professional journey, I’ve come to see what once felt like opposing concepts as deeply intertwined.
So, what is vibration?
Scientifically, vibration is defined as “the periodic back-and-forth motion of particles commonly resulting when almost any physical system is displaced from its equilibrium condition and allowed to respond to the forces that tend to restore equilibrium” (Britannica).
If you’ve ever taken Chemistry, you’ll remember this truth: we are made up of particles—tiny, miraculous formations of energy in constant motion. We are, at our core, vibrating beings.
Jonathan Schooler of the University of California, Santa Barbara, has even developed a “resonance theory of consciousness,” suggesting that resonance—synchronized vibration—isn’t just central to human consciousness, but to physical reality itself. Everything around us carries a unique vibration.
This is the bridge I’ve come to embrace: vibration is not only a scientific principle, but also a lived experience. It is the pulse of our biology, the rhythm of our emotions, and the energy that connects us to one another.
Our thought patterns and emotional states quietly shape our outcomes in life, even if we aren’t consciously aware of them.
Over time, I’ve become deeply attuned to people’s energy and how it can shift. Touch, movement, nutrition, breath-work, rest, and community all play a role. When worked on intentionally, they don’t just improve health—they change life outcomes.
High-Vibration Emotions
- Love – unconditional acceptance and compassion
- Joy – delight and contentment that energizes
- Acceptance – embracing situations without judgment
Lower-Vibration Emotions
- Fear – stress and anxiety from perceived threats
- Shame – the heavy weight of unworthiness
- Pride – ego-driven disconnection when unchecked
Here’s the good news: vibrations can shift.
Meditation, nature, movement, connection, hobbies—all of these raise frequencies. And when you lift your vibration, you lift the energy of those around you.
From “Woo-Woo” to Unstoppable
I’ll be honest: years ago, I would have judged all this talk of energy as “woo-woo medicine”
Why?
Because I feared judgment. As a massage therapist in a healthcare system that undervalued preventative care, I felt I had to prove myself through results and advocacy. But over time—through clinical outcomes, lived experience, and my own healing journey—I realized how powerful this truth is.
Three years ago, I made the bold decision to sell Wallis for Wellness, the integrative clinic I had built from the ground up. A space where allopathic and complementary providers worked side by side, empowering patients to become the most important member of their healthcare team.
It was terrifying. But it was necessary.
Because I knew I was being called to something BIGGER!
It was time to share my years of clinical experience, lessons learned from thousands of interactions with patients and my passion for education and advocacy work in a new forward thinking way.
That’s when PHAM (Preventative Health Awareness Movement) was born.
The energy of the pandemic—fear, isolation, lack of control—was undeniable. But it also sparked a readiness for change. People were searching for connection, empowerment, and education. PHAM became the place to plug into that energy and shift healthcare conversations toward prevention, collaboration, and patient empowerment.
Full Circle Moments
Leading PHAM hasn’t been easy. Change never is. But leaning into the hard has always led to growth, collaboration, and forward movement. PHAM, a Health Canada recognized advocacy and empowerment movement is gaining momentum and attention.
The Preventative Health Awareness Movement (PHAM) is more than a vision—it’s a timely and essential shift in how we approach healthcare in Canada and beyond.
Today, over 75 healthcare professionals from diverse disciplines, alongside PHAM Partners—businesses that share our commitment—are working together to change the very legacy of healthcare. What makes PHAM so powerful is not only the collective expertise behind it, but also our commitment to innovation. We are bringing forward new Health Canada–authorized technologies that offer quicker access to care and earlier diagnoses, giving people the opportunity to take action sooner—before disease progresses—so we can extend healthspan instead of simply lifespan. And this movement is for every Canadian. From pregnancy to palliative care, PHAM exists to ensure that all of us are cared for, listened to, and truly supported throughout our health journeys.
Wallis for Wellness was never just a clinic—it was born out of my own personal journey with endometriosis. I know firsthand the devastating impact of not being heard or validated as a patient. It took me 10 long years to receive a diagnosis, and by then, my disease had progressed significantly. I endured bowel obstructions, 10 surgeries, a collapsed lung, infertility struggles, early menopause, and far too many years of my life hijacked by pain and self-doubt. That experience lit a fire in me to create a different kind of healthcare environment—one where patients felt seen, supported, and treated as the most important member of the healthcare team.
And just last week, I had a powerful full-circle moment—one that felt like history in the making. I proudly led the FIRST EVER PHAM Endo Road Show, in collaboration with Dr. Kristy Prouse MD, FRCSC (OB/GYN) and EndoDiagnosis alongside a 3-city Osteosound “REMS on the Road” Bone Health Tour.
The energy in those rooms was electric. Patients were finally validated. Clinicians came together across disciplines. Communities were empowered. We even caught the attention of the media, who recognized these tests as game-changers for the future of women’s health in Canada.
It was a milestone not only for PHAM, but for every patient who has ever felt dismissed or left behind. Proof that when we come together with courage, compassion, and collaboration, we generate unstoppable energy—the kind that truly changes lives.

Protecting & Fueling Your Energy
So here’s my message for you:
- Protect your energy. Don’t give it away carelessly.
- Plug into supportive energy. Surround yourself with people who "breathe belief into you" and who challenge you and lift you higher.
- Don’t let pride or fear block growth. Lean into the hard—it’s where transformation happens.
And as I reflect on my own willingness to lean in, embrace the hard, and do the work, I can see how PHAM is now gaining unstoppable momentum—changing lives in ways bigger and more powerful than I could have ever imagined.
Together, we are shifting healthcare and creating legacy change.
