This has been a saying of mine for many years and recently several people have commented to me that they have never heard of this saying before.


The body is an instrument of the MIND. With over 40 years in the fitness industry I have seen first hand how this works. People make their minds up - this is the year I'm going to get fit, I'm going to eat healthier, I'm going to lose the weight - they add in some will power, get results and then BOOM they go right back to where they started. This leaves people feeling frustrated, angry and mostly; there is something wrong with them! I'M HERE TO TELL YOU THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU - IT'S YOUR PROGRAMMING!!


What exactly does that mean in regards to your health?

Many people are running on a program of: lose weight - gain weight, deprivation diet - overindulgence, exercise - don't exercise and these programs or beliefs become fixed in a person's mind. These programs or beliefs now become part of ones SELF-IMAGE , how they see themselves. Let's call this the SET POINT.

Think of your HEALTH SET POINT like a thermostat in you home. You're Health Set point is at 62 degrees with your self-image and programming. You decide to lose 10lbs add some will power and do all the right things, eat properly, hydrate, exercise and there you go, 10lbs gone! You've RAISED YOUR HEALTH TEMPERATURE to 82 degrees, but your set point is at 62 degrees.

A party happens and you fall off the wagon, you're tired so you skip a few workouts and now you're beginning to wonder if it's worth it. Another week goes by and late night snacking creeps back in, another week of no exercise and before you know it the 10lbs magically appears again! You're back at your original HEALTH SET POINT of 62 degrees, further proving to yourself that you cannot keep the weight off!


Here's the good news.......YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR HEALTH SET POINT!

  1. Awareness - It all starts with awareness of limiting beliefs, old programming and your habitual way of thinking regarding your health.
  2. Question - Once you have built your awareness of the old programming you begin to question: Is this belief really true? Is this belief brining me closer to my health goal or in the opposite direction? What do I NEED TO BELIEVE to bring me closer to my health goal?
  3. Create - Now comes the fun part! You get to create your NEW SELF IMAGE in your IDEAL HEALTH. What new beliefs do I need to adopt to align with my health goal? What new actions and habits are part of my new Self Image? You now become The Star of your Ideal Health Movie and are no longer The Extra.

When these three steps are implemented TRUE TRANSFORMATION occurs. You will never go back to your old set point.

This is difference between CHANGE (where there is a chance you will go back to your set point) and TRUE TRANSFORMATION (where you're never going back again)
